Nurse station, hair dressing salon, kitchen servery all encircle the outer edge of the central lounge like shop fronts. Dr Sid Lau purchased Sylvan Lodge Nursing Home (Toowong) in 1989 as an ongoing concern. It was an exciting day in 2000 when the residents transferred from Sylvan Lodge in Toowong to the new building, Forest Lake Lodge in Forest Lake. The new building was based on a village concept with the central lounge acting like a village centre. Low care inclusions: *24 hr registered nurses, *Staff to provide help at all times, including in emergency situations, *Assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, showering, dressing, & mobility, *Meals & refreshments, taking into account special dietary needs, *Basic furnishings including chairs, over-bed tables, beds & bed linen, bath towels, face washers, soap and toilet paper. High care inclusions: *24hr registered nurses, *Staff to provide help at all times, including in emergency situations, *Assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, showering, dressing, and mobility, *Assistance with medications, *Meals and refreshments, taking into account special dietary needs, *Social activities, *Continence aids.
